Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure

How Ethical Founder Law makes money, what we will never sell, and our FTC-compliant disclosure of advertising and affiliate relationships. We do not sell reader leads to law firms.

Effective date: 4 September 2026

We write about topics that are among the most valuable commercial keywords on the internet. You are entitled to know exactly how the site that is telling you about your legal rights pays its bills.

The short version

  • This site may earn revenue from display advertising and, where relevant, affiliate links.
  • We do not sell reader leads to law firms, claim buyers, factoring companies or brokers. Ever.
  • We do not sell editorial conclusions. No advertiser has ever been given, and none will be given, the ability to change a factual finding on this site.
  • If a page contains an affiliate or sponsored link, it is disclosed on that page, not just here.

Why this page is unusually blunt

The keywords we cover — injury attorneys, structured settlements, mesothelioma litigation, trading accounts — are worth extraordinary sums per click. That money has shaped the entire content landscape around them.

The dominant business model in this niche is lead generation: a site attracts an injured person, captures their name, phone number and injury details in a “free case evaluation” form, and sells that record to a law firm or a marketing network. The reader usually believes they are contacting a lawyer. They are, in fact, being sold — sometimes to several firms at once.

We do not do this. There are no case-evaluation forms on this site. We do not collect case details, we do not transfer reader information to firms or brokers, and we do not accept per-lead payments. That is why the guides here read like explanations rather than sales pitches: nothing on this site is trying to convert you.

How we may earn revenue

Display advertising

Pages may carry advertising served by third-party networks. Where they do:

  • Advertisers have no involvement in what we write, publish, conclude or recommend.
  • Ads are visually distinct from editorial content.
  • Advertising networks may set their own cookies, described in our Cookie Policy.
  • An advertisement on a page is not an endorsement by us of that advertiser, and an advertiser appearing beside an article has no bearing on the article’s content.

Affiliate links

Some links to products, tools or services may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a commission if you click through and subscribe or purchase. This never costs you more than going direct.

Where affiliate links appear, we commit to:

  1. Disclosing them clearly on the page itself, close to the link and before you click, in line with the FTC’s Endorsement Guides.
  2. Never placing an affiliate link inside legal or regulatory guidance. Our articles about injury claims, settlements, workers’ compensation and occupational disease carry no affiliate links to legal or financial services.
  3. Recommending nothing we would not recommend unpaid. If a commission is the only reason a link exists, the link does not exist.

Sponsored content

If we ever publish sponsored or paid content, it will be labelled “Sponsored” at the top of the page and in any listing where it appears, and it will be visually distinct from editorial. It will not be presented as independent journalism.

At the effective date of this policy, we publish no sponsored content.

What money can never buy here

To be completely explicit, no payment of any kind will purchase:

  • A change to a factual conclusion, a risk warning, or a criticism;
  • Removal of an accurate statement about a company;
  • A “best of” placement or ranking;
  • Editorial cover for a product we would otherwise warn about;
  • Your personal data.

If anyone approaches us offering payment for any of the above, the answer is no.

Our specific position on financial products

Our coverage of trading products — spread betting, contracts for difference and retail foreign exchange — is educational and carries risk warnings drawn from regulators’ own published data.

We do not accept affiliate commission from retail trading brokers on those pages. The conflict is too direct: a broker’s affiliate programme pays for deposits, and we are explaining why most retail accounts lose money. Those two things cannot coexist honestly on the same page.

Independence in practice

Editorial decisions are made under our published Editorial Policy, which requires primary sourcing and public corrections. Commercial staff, where they exist, have no veto over editorial content and no advance sight of critical coverage.

Questions, and how to hold us to this

If you think something on this site reads like paid placement, ask us. If we ever fail to meet the commitments on this page, we want to hear about it publicly and fix it publicly.
