We explain the systems that decide what your claim is worth
Most people meet the legal system exactly once, on the worst day of their life. They meet it exhausted, in pain, in debt, and completely unarmed — while the other side has adjusters who handle two hundred files a year and lawyers who have handled thousands.
Ethical Founder Law exists to close some of that gap. We publish long, careful, plain-English explainers on the areas of law and finance where ordinary people lose the most money simply because nobody told them how the machinery works: personal injury claims, structured settlements, workers’ compensation, occupational disease litigation, and regulated trading products.
We are not a law firm. We do not take cases, we do not sell leads, and we are not trying to sign you up for anything. We write the article we wish someone had handed us.
Who publishes this site
Ethical Founder Law is a project of Ethical Founder, a support platform for Indian startups and MSMEs built on a simple promise:
We build the online home your business deserves – so customers can find you before you even open your doors.
The parent platform provides free and low-cost digital infrastructure to bootstrapped businesses — three-page websites with SEO built in, professional logo design, Google Business Profile and local SEO setup, custom AI agents for workflow automation, and affordable design packages bundled with free .IN domains. To date that work has supported 51+ registered MSMEs, drawing on a network of 26 freelance designers and 7 instructors.
That work taught us something we did not expect. The founders we helped were rarely blocked by a lack of ambition. They were blocked by a lack of information — about contracts they had signed, insurance they had bought, compensation they were owed, and financial products they had been sold. The same pattern held for their families and employees.
So we built this research desk. Same principle as the parent brand: the information that changes outcomes should not be locked behind a consultation fee.

| Startup Legal & Finance | Outsourcing contracts, IP assignment, and the regulation of retail trading products |
How we write
Every guide on this site is built the same way, and we published the method so you can hold us to it. The full standard lives on our Editorial Policy page. In short:
- Primary sources first. We cite the statute, the federal agency, the regulator or the peer-reviewed body — not another blog. When we say a deadline is one year, we link the code section that says so.
- We name the jurisdiction. “You have two years to file” is useless without a state attached, because it is false in most of them. We state which law we are describing and where it applies.
- We publish the numbers we can verify and refuse the ones we cannot. You will not find invented “average settlement” figures on this site. Where reliable data exists we cite it; where it does not, we explain what actually drives the number instead.
- We correct in public. Errors get fixed with a dated note, not a silent edit.
What we are not
This matters enough to say plainly, twice.
We are not attorneys and we do not give legal advice. Our writers are researchers and editors. Reading this site creates no attorney–client relationship, and nothing here is a substitute for a licensed professional who has seen your documents and knows your jurisdiction. The full terms are on our Disclaimer page.
We are not financial advisers. Our coverage of annuities, structured settlements and trading products is educational. It is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or transfer anything.
We do not sell your case. Many sites covering these keywords exist to capture your details and sell them to a firm for a few hundred dollars. We do not run lead-generation forms, and we do not pass reader information to law firms or brokers. Our commercial disclosures are on the Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure page.
Talk to us
Corrections, source challenges, licensing questions and partnership enquiries all go to the same place: admin@ethicalfounder.com, or through our contact page.
If you have found an error in something we published, tell us. We would rather be corrected than be wrong quietly.
